In response to complaints from three U.S. companies, the Department of Commerce launched a “double counter” survey of polyester staple products imported from the countries and regions in June this year. If all two institutions make a positive final, the U.S. Department of Commerce will require Customs to impose tariffs on related products.
The U.S. Department of Commerce data showed that the United States in 2016 imports of polyester staple fiber products in the amount of about 79.41 million U.S. dollars, imports from Taiwan related products amount to about 9.58 million U.S. dollars.
China’s Ministry of Commerce has repeatedly expressed its hope that the United States Government will abide by the commitments against trade protectionism and jointly uphold a free, open and fair international trading environment and properly handle trade frictions in a more rational way.
